BOOKS

Oh boy, I LOVE books! This is going to be challenging to pick the best to list here. Here are some that had a big impact for me or were helpful in helping me ‘get outta’ my head’ and enjoy the story:

One of the first books I read regarding shifting my money mindset was “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind” by T. Harv Eker. There was actually a ticket in the back of the book to attend one of his national workshops. Myself and three others went to the workshop in Michigan and it opened our minds to all sorts of new and exciting perspectives! If you’re looking to free your soul and open yourself to becoming the highest and best version of yourself, you may enjoy this powerful book; “The Untethered Soul: The Journey Beyond Yourself” by Michael A. Singer. Find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Untethered-Soul-Journey-Beyond-Yourself/dp/1572245379/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549045422&sr=8-1&keywords=the+untethered+soul

Don’t let your fear stop you from living your best life. This book is excellent to help us identify what our fears really are and offering guidance to move through them. “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway” by Susan Jeffers, Ph.D. Find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Feel-Fear-Do-Anyway/dp/0345487427/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1549046082&sr=8-1&keywords=feel+the+fear+and+do+it+anyway

Are you having a difficult time identifying your strengths? You may enjoy “StrengthsFinder 2.0” by Tom Rath. There’s a code in a sealed envelope in the back of the book that you can use to take an online test to find your top five strengths (you can find your top 36 strengths for an additional charge). Find it here: https://www.amazon.com/StrengthsFinder-2-0-Tom-Rath/dp/159562015X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1549046237&sr=8-2&keywords=strengths+finder+2.0

If you, like me, love to read or to listen to books on audio, it’s important to find authors that you enjoy. If you can quiet your mind long enough to get into the story it can be a great stress reliever! Here are some of my favorite authors of fictional works:

Dorothea Benton Frank: her stories take place in the the Low Country in South Carolina

David Baldacci: he writes political thrillers, some have been made into movies; Absolute Power, Wish You Well

Dan Brown: you’re probably familiar with his religious mysteries, which have been made into movies; The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, etc.

Joanne Fluke: cozy mysteries featuring Hannah Swensen; five of her books have been made into Hallmark movies! Her books include recipes : )

CONNECTION

A big part of leading a balanced life and one that you thoroughly enjoy includes being connected . . . with yourself, with other like-minded people, with something larger than yourself. There are a number of ways to do this, here are just a few:

MEETUP: visit MEETUP.COM to find a group of like-minded people that you would like to join. This is how I found my business coach and met a lot of wonderful other entrepreneurial women! Can’t find one you like? You can create your own!

FRIENDS/FAMILY NETWORK: Maybe you already have a group of friends and/or family you enjoy being around. Create a set time to get together for game night, themed dinners, etc to be sure you make it happen!

THE WRITTEN WORD: In this day of technology that we live in, it’s so refreshing to get a card in the mail with a handwritten note. Take time to do that, it not only benefits the recipient, just the act of writing it has shown it elevates our mood.

SPIRITUAL CONNECTION: Choose your favorite way to connect with something larger than yourself and be sure to do it! Set time aside to read your bible, meditate, go to Yoga, sit quietly, spend time outdoors; whatever it is be sure to do it!!
