HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SAFE CLEANING PRODUCTS!

We humans are funny. We are aware of the importance of keeping a clean home, but often fail to realize the hazards of, and toxins in, our cleaning products. I became aware of this a couple of years ago when I started using doTERRA essential oils *.

I learned how to make some of my own cleaning products, which I LOVE for many reasons because they are:

  • Non-toxic
  • Beneficial to any man/woman/child/pet who smells them
  • Effective
  • Safe
  • Economical

There are so many recipes to share, but I thought I’d start with some basic ones that I love and are quick and easy to make.

GLASS/MIRROR CLEANER:

3 cups water, 1/4 cup vinegar, 20 drops lemon or peppermint doTERRA essential oils.

Pour vinegar into 24 oz or larger glass or heavy-duty plastic spray bottle. Add essential oil. Shake, spray and wipe off.

GROUT/DIRT SCRUB:

1/2 cup baking soda, 3 Tablespoons water (you may need to add more to get it to a paste consistency), 10 drops lemon doTERRA essential oil and 10 drops lime doTERRA essential oil.

Pour baking soda into glass jar, add water and essential oils, mix well. Apply to surface needing cleaned, let sit up to 20 minutes for stubborn areas, wipe off with damp cloth.

I used this to get fingerprints and scuff marks off of our woodwork, it was amazing!

MULTI-PURPOSE SPRAY CLEANER:

3 cups water, 15 drops On Guard doTERRA essential oil, 15 drops Melaleuca doTERRA essential oil.
Mix together in 24 oz or larger glass or heavy-duty plastic spray bottle. Shake well, spray on countertops, etc., wipe off with paper towel or damp cloth. This mixture not only is a non-toxic cleaner, it also supports your immune system!

I only use doTERRA essential oils as they are the purest I have found and therefore very effective. I love them so much, I became a Wellness Advocate with doTERRA.
